Palette on Oh Yan Shan Instagram

Oh Yan Shan confidently sharing her story.

Oh Yan Shan, a girl who is 22 years old from Sungai Bakap, Penang has made a great effort on distinct herself from others by tuning tone of the photos.

She is studying Finance & investment at TARUC who is using an iPhone 6s to get her nice feed on Instagram @ohohys.

She currently has 1070 followers on her Instagram.


The editing style

Oh has been tried out different palette in editing her Instagram feed.

“Taking and editing photos make me feel calm and relax as I usually express my emotion through the colors.”

She claimed that different colors or filter to photos can convey different types of feeling. For instance, adding cool colors will keep the photos seems calm.

For her, colors are limitless and boundless.

"I decided to make them look different from what they should be like such as transforming the sky from azure blue to turquoise blue to make photos more eye-catching to connect with my followers on a deeper level by bringing different colors to my photos that burst with emotion."

She claimed, “I’m a nature-lover so I enjoy viewing all the photos of nature from regal snow-capped mountain ranges or transparent aquamarine oceans, the beauties that nature provides delight the people around the world.”

She has made her own effort on getting knowledge about the photography to express her days through photos.

She stated that photography allows her to capture the precious moments.

“Photography helps me hang on the memories a little longer, said sentimentally by her.”

Yap Ko Xin said, “She requires herself to do better or to do furthermore on something interest her, and she got a sheer determination.”

Indeed, Yap mentioned that Oh is a finance student she didn't learn thru professional photography course before.

“Not everyone can keep the feel even enhance it after the editing process.”


The inspiration

The inspiration for making a contrast as a student who should be busy solving mathematics is the bloggers and travelers that she followed on Instagram.

She introduced that @katerinastavreva was her favorite photographer on Instagram who loves to travel, shares photography and editing tips on her Instagram stories.

The man behinds the viewfinder was her best friends and family.

 “Sometimes I’ll help them to capture and edit their photos.”

Yap added, "She includes herself naturally in her photos and always keep the style be on the Insta photo trend."

She praised Oh that always enable to coordinate the color effect to make her Instagram feed looks consistent and pleasing.”


The perception from DSLR photographer

Lau Ming Jun sharing his thought about photography.

             

Lau Ming Jun, a chairperson of UTAR Sg Long Photo Expo 2018 has the same amazed with the performance of mobile photography.

“Mobile phone is all in one, much lighter equipment to carry around to get the almost same quality of entry-level DSLR or mirrorless camera.”

“Doesn’t matter what equipment you used, you still can produce a good photo.”

However, he opined that the phone will never replace DSLR or mirrorless where the sensor size is the limitation.

Meanwhile, he predicted consumer will go for the choice of the mobile phone where they can only get an entry level of DSLR camera with more function at the same price.
